Land_lubber,

It's your money bet the way you best see it. All I can say is you misread the article in a typical "forever bear" manner. All that was said is that Samsung is "selling non-memory businesses as part of restructuring and to help improve its financial position".

Korea economy and businesses are in the dumper...believe it, it is true. Maybe you are just too brainwashed by the "forever bears" that you are not reading the papers in an unbiased way. I have a suggestion for you that I gave to Tip awhile ago:

Since every time someone closed an outdated fab, the "forever bears" took it as a sign that the DRAM business sucked and anyone with a brain would want out, I suppose that since Samsung is obviously willing to sell off other businesses to stay in DRAM, it is only fair to ask why? Could it be because the DRAM business will be extremely profitable for leaders like Samsung and MU once the weak players are weeded out? Nah, must be because they're crazy.....
