There's no more of a sophisticated trader around here than Brian, so assume he knows all the possible outcomes. The thing is, as you say, someone is betting the stock will go down. Also, someone gambling with a large amount of money is telling you a deal or any other big move up is not about to happen. A big deal and a big move up could cost this guy millions; if not in actual losses, then in lost opportunity (ie if he owned the stock).

All you can do is read what you can into the trades. In this case, someone big is betting the stock will go down, and won't go up big.

PS SW, are you still around or did you sell out the other day?
