J. Saf and all,

Shaking the Money Tree
Robert Metz
<<excerpt>>"Is this stock destined for 10-fold gains in 10 years? Identix is in lucrative markets and is buying key technologies and rounding out its line with Identicator. But Identix is still building important alliances necessary to its success. In August, when the shares were trading at 5-7/8, Salomon Smith Barney's Marc S. Usem rated the shares Outperform, Speculative. He then had a target price for the stock of 12."

Hey guys, let's just appreciate we have a good poster who has appeared on the Yahoo board (jsjlaw). The runup in volume and price occurring at the end of the day had to be an outcome of that luncheon. And we can look forward to new analyst reports, I'll bet, that should help a bit more.

A couple of other items:

According to Newsbytes of November 16, Bill Gates mentioned biometrics in his Comdex keynote: "Passwords, as used today, are a weak link in the privacy of information, said Gates, and new technologies like smart card-based systems and biometrics will provide much higher levels of security."

By the way, Buck, I saw a reference to Gates' famous biometrics quote in the Austin Business Journal (11/28/97), which printed: "At an industry conference last month, Bill Gates is quoted as saying biometric technologies will be 'the most important IT (Information technology) innovations of the next several years,' a trade publication, ZDNN Magazine, reports."

For J. Saf and other analyst types, the October 31 San Francisco Chronicle reported that Identicator "would be thrilled if it could ship 55,000 of these new [Key Tronic] keyboard systems by the end of the year."

I looked up where San Bruno and Sunnyvale are on the map, and they are too far apart to continue separately. Look for the Identicator staff to move to Sunnyvale when their lease runs out.
