The market didn't rally because the interest rate cut was already factored in. I think we saw a small rally after the announcement in relief that the Fed cut the rate, but then it gave it back. I don't see any implication that "things must be much worse than many thought". The only consensus that can be gathered from today's action is that there is no consensus. As usual, no one knows where things are going. THe only thing I feel relatively sure about is that Rambus will be worth alot more a year from now than it is now (as will CPQ, INTC, and CSCO...).

Don..Actually every index did rally when the cut was announced. DOW closed 40 points higher than where it was prior to the announcement. Of course there is worry, and you know what that means.
