I quite agree on the question of the cost/performance trade-off. Particularly for the Voodoo3, where it looks like TDFX are really going after the OEM market. The OEMs will not be fooled by high-cost low-payback bells and whistles.

Nor, I hope, will they be fooled by these "comparative" demos set up by some companies, where the systems running a competitor's cards are configured to run games in software emulation mode.

New (macromedia flash enhanced!) 3Dfx site....

3dfx.com

i am seriously impressed.

it seems that the ad companies that 3Dfx hired are finally doing getting their act together! (Is it just me or is the new Voodoo3 new advertising giving anyone else that warm fuzzy feeling deep inside... =) ) I love that new voodoo 3 logo... (i wonder if they'll start selling t-shirts soon =) ).

Maybe we should all chip in for the masseuse, provided s/he only works on Chip's feet, of course!

Seriously, keep up the good work Chip. Maybe one of these days I'll coordinate it so I can go to one of these shows too.

Cheers,
Tim
