Rishi,

I think ESS's sales organization ought to be put on pressure
from all shareholders.

They have great positions in audio and video. They have great products.
They have efficient operations. They are quick, agile and responsive.
However, I have heard there are complaints about its sales forces. And
sales is headed by no one else other than the CEO himself. And the hot season
is here and we will all count on the financial results of this quarter and next.

Can you find out for all of us?

Steve

Steve,

I don't think ESS is addressing this market that General Instruments is addressing. Divicom/C-Cube is much better that ESS in this respect. However, even C-Cube is not so successful here. Divicom helped a little bit because of the head-end contract they had.

I think the ESS Internet chip based Internet box should address the WebTV like market but seeks a more effective marketing channel yet to be refined. I will leave this to ESS sales/marketing department to worry. And I heard they have some sales reps working for them to promote these devices to potential manufacturer partners.
