Microsoft Must Change Windows 98 nytimes.com

So it will suck less? No such luck, here's the AP story on the Java ruling.

Just one ruling, I'm sure there'll be many more battles in the war.

''We are disappointed in Sun's shortsighted legal strategy which we believe limits choice for customers and developers,'' Cullinan said.

Yes, it's tragic when customers and developers aren't forced to accept what "market forces" have decided, e.g. where Bill wants them to go today!

Cheers, Dan.

Benny,

>>Microsoft Corp....90 days to modify its Windows 98 operating system or pull it from the market.

I guess Microsoft learned that if you are going to pollute the water it is better to do it downstream of your revenue source.

On the bright side, IBM already ships 100% compatible Java products so who needs Windows at all?

Cheers,

Norm
