A few thousand shares not options. This will drive the underlying stock price up and thus the option sellers need to act to cover their base. The coverage can be buying the stock or closing the option. Most will jump in and buy the stock as it's cheaper. All this will then drive the price up more and thus the next strike optioners will then join in and there we get a snowballing effect.

Look at the Internet stocks, individual power is now really strong!
