AMZN's market cap today is within $1B of FD's market cap. The latter had $3.8B in sales this last Q and they are estimated to earn $2.99 in EPS next year.

Is Bozo selling underwear yet?

Looks to me you actually didn't get my point, or analysts' point. The reason analysts are so enthusiastic about AMZN's entering Video/Gift business is because they see AMZN has the potential to become an e-commence giant selling every kind of consumer products on the net.

Okay, I mostly lurk this thread, but I don't get it either.
So what if Amazon becomes an e-commerce giant? The Post Office
loses my mail, won't leave packages on my door step half the
time and returns them, or worse yet they leave a slip so I have
to drive to the Post Office, wait in line for 15 minutes to
get the package. I am never going to use e-commerce to buy
my clothes either, they just don't fit if you don't try them on.
E-commerce has a serious delivery problem and the goods cost more
when you pay the shipping and handling. I can stop in to WalMart
on my way home from work and avoid all these hassles. Not to mention
when you need something to get a job done, in the future I'm supposed
to order it off the net instead of a 5 minute drive to Home Depot?
Videos, in the future I'm going to download via a cable or XDSL
modem in MP3 (or like) format, think I actually want a plastic disk?

Going to enjoy making money on the way down on "The Thing" this Spring....
