There has been some talk in the press of the injunction backfiring on Sun when Microsoft decides "not to support Java at all".

Let it happen. Substitute third-party JVM's for every MS environment, many of them free, would be on the net so fast it would make your head spin. You might not be able to get support for them from Microsoft...but have you ever tried to get support for something from Microsoft? And Microsoft is not in a position to sabotage anything at this delicate moment.

amusing, but probably accurate. I can only imagine the exchange in the courtroom.

MSFT: We can't make it in time

MSFT: But everytime we try to cut-n-paste out the old code for the new, the whole system crashes with this blue screen thing.
