Hi Antoine,

>> whether there wouldn't be some short side possibilities if y2k profits were capitalized and the market failed to realize that y2k wouldn't happen forever. Any thoughts there? <<
I have thought about possible investment plays, long and short, based on the Y2K issues but I could not come up with anything concrete due mainly to the fact Y2K problem is so difficult to quantify. I expect there will be a type of hype next year for anything that is "Y2K compliant" probably as an indicator of quality as the ISO 9000 compliance. Perhaps marketing blitz by every electronics makers pushing the new goods to replace competitors' products; the "buy now before it's too late, our <fill in name> is really Y2K compliant" type of stuff. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything tangible enough to invest in yet.
