If you saw the CEO of Williams Sonoma on CNBC the other day, you might see why.
He was questioned mostly on the Fed Ex situation and how it affects his company.
Said W.S. ships 90% of packages via FDX, and has done so for a long time, and still is committed to ship thusly, and is confident that FDX will still deliver, whatever might happen.
It appears that many of the rank and file of land workers is not that sympathetic to the "plight" of the pilots, many or most of whom book salaries in excess of 100 K per year. Pilots constitute 2% of the work force, their land counterparts 98%.

""Who would want to own this stock right now with all the turmoil? ""

This would depend on an investor's aversion to risk and his typical investment horizon. Turmoil can present opportunity as evidenced by the smaller tech stocks recently. I'm glad I owned FDX today!

If you've been following FDX you will know that some consider it to be a hidden internet play. Take a look at what these stocks have been doing lately. Good luck.
