Herbert: The difference between Zeev's unsupported statement and the unsuported statement cited by FMK is that I known Zeev for two years and place a lot of trust in his opinion. I know Zeev has considerably more technical expertise than I do, and I've always known Zeev to be honest in "calling them the way he sees them." I also know that Zeev is capable of making a more educated assessment of the efficacy of VLNC's patents than any I've seen demonstrated on this thread to date. You may not have the same trust in Zeev that I do. It takes much time to build such trust in someone you've never met personally. I certainly would not blame people who don't know Zeev for wondering about his motives. At a minimum, however, Zeev's identity and qualifications are available for anybody who makes the effort to click on his web site. Can you say the same for "midwestpatents?" Regarding FMK's reaction that I am suggesting he "defend" VLNC's patents. That is not my suggestion. I am not attacking Lev's statement because I lack the qualifications to judge one way or the other. I've never even bothered to look at their patent portfolio, because I would be wasting my time. However, I expect that if pointed in the right direction, Zeev would come back here to add weight to Lev's "stepping on patents" statement. That's why I suggest that FMK would be doing the thread a favor by pointing Zeev in the right direction.
