Dear Uncle Frank: Well, since we are telling tales. In 1959 I had a 1958 MGA. Nice little car until I threw a rod through the Piston. As a result had the cylinders rebored and oversized pistons put in: 3/4 racing cam; intake and exhaust valves polished; transmission rebuilt; and Abarth muffler system installed with side pipes and a butterfly valve to blow the exhaust out the side. That MONSTER grabbed rubber in FOURTH gear. I used to make a lot of money racing Corvettes and TBirds with my INNOCENT little MGA. JDN
