Well let's put it this way. He has more right to it than the USA does. What some of us fail to realize is that they live there not us. It is their land. We are the interlopers and oil-stealers. We are the government who pits country against country to gain advantage for one reason: what we want out of those countries. We care not whit that the Shah of Iran was phony King who ruled with terror. We preferred the National Geographic picture of a serene progressive rule. Phony Phony, Phony. I think history will judge us harshly. We dealt with dictators and suppressed freedom and self government for cheap breakfast and American domination. At least Cuba is semi-honest in exporting its ideals of government to other countries. They are consistent. I did not say I liked their ideals, but they live by them. Our foreign relations are based on hypocrisy. The US would have its citizens believe that around the world totally unreasonable people have out of the blue amidst poverty and arid unproductive climates solely for ideological reasons have dreamed up a hatred for an America which in no way harms or affects them. Just because we are big and powerful and drink coca-cola. Oh yes, and we have a special relationship with Israel, a state that they may not even border on. Well the latter does not help. But I put it to you, that all these gun toting fanatics have better things to do than merely to stir up trouble with the world's most powerful nation, simply because it exists. Wouldn't they rather be our friend? So since it make no logical sense to say that terrorism arises from whim or natural ideology we had better look long and hard at why it exists at all. Why for instance would we ourselves partake in it; if we had reason what would that reason be? The answers should lead us away as Mr. Lederer would have us stray, from the font of American propaganda and self justification to a truer understanding of other peoples. If we do not soon awake we will not be able to chart a course of peace in this world. Bah Bah. Having said that I wish the black sheep a speedy return. EC<:-}
