I agree with your purpose and even concur about "forced" coding requirements for 64 KiloByte code.


So I'm not the only one.. this is good to know..

However, even if this did happen, the current wave of Code-Bloat-Get-The-Product-Out-As-Fast-As-Possible will "corrupt" all but the most dedicated programmers.


Well I would have to say yes and no to that, for the simple fact that once you get enough programmers trained in this fashion:

i) the driving force behind software updates will change

and more importantly

ii) it becomes second nature to program in a conscious manner.. most of todays code bloat is due to poor overall design that has little to do with time constraints. There just isn't any thought given to coding something efficiently. If you start to get this idea into peoples heads, they will stick with it, even sub-consciously.. I know I have.
