Down regulation of beta receptors is one of the theories explaining how antidepressants work therapeutically. I have not heard of down regulation as an explanation for the "poop out" effect. I have heard of other theories, but I don't think it is well understood. In fact, it is not entirely understood how antidepressants work. I would be interested in any well done studies on the "poop out" effect. If you have the source, please send it to me (private, as we are off topic) Brad
