my point was that it will be the
hardware makers who will be profiting and
not the Y2K body shops. I think Y2K will
be disaster, but companies doing the
fixing will not be the winners.

CNBC just interviewd a WSJ reporter who reported the estimated Y2K remediation costs for the top 12 banks had risen by 500mm$ in just the last 3 months. Some banks see more testing is needed others are recognizing the need to check on the compliance of customers with large loans.
