Ok, lets take Sun Microsystems.

SUNW 66 11/16
IFCI 7 3/8

End date: 17-FEB-99. That should be fun

I must admit that I am a bit baffled about who is selling. For the last 4 to 5 months, it seems the pattern has remained consistent. The stock gets pushed down on relatively low volume which then seems to shake out some good size blocks which are picked up by the MMs, and then it recovers. Yesterday, once it dropped to 7 3/8, blocks of 30k and two of 15k were traded.

During this time, I have yet to see any evidence that institutions are responsible for any of this selling (the last 6 months shows about 3 million purchased to 12,000 shares sold by institutions). It often appears that the institutions are quite aware that these blocks will sell if they push the stock down and this is what they are after. If any of the little guys get shaken out along the way, then that's fine too.

Doesn't appear that Sapp can be the only non-institution selling. In any case, the trading of these blocks is usually a sign we will now recover a bit. We'll see.

I see Yahoo and others have yet to refigure the last years earnings, which is now 35 cents after charges? That should give us a P/E of around 22?

David

<<Sun Microsystems = 66 11/16, and they just won the first round
in court with MSFT over Java.

I still think IFCI will have the greater percentage gain
in three months though.>>>

Still feeling that way?
