Excerpts from the Seattle P-I re ruling in Sun v. Microsoft:

"The ruling doesn't require that Microsoft recall any products or remove anything from its products; instead it must add certain software code that Sun has argued is required for Microsoft to comply with its license agreement."

"But Sun says it (Microsoft) can't comply without adding something called the Java Native Interface, or JNI - a way of assuring developers that their applications will run properly on all versions of Java for Windows."

"Microsoft should be able to add JNI to Windows 98 in as little as a few weeks if it assigns enough people to the task, Sun spokesman Lisa Poulson said."
