ST.PETERSBURG, November 19 (Itar-Tass) - Kirghizia, which now produces twenty-two tonnes of gold a year, is planning to boost the output of this precious metal to 30-35 tonnes by tapping two new deposits, containing from 65 to 70 tonnes of gold each.

"The republic had recently signed contracts to work gold fields with Malaysian and Australian firms," Valentin Bogdetsky, head of the state-run "Kirghizaltyn" concern stated here. He attended the sixth international "CIS Natural Resources" forum in St.Petersburg.

According to Bogdetsky, Kirghizia has sixteen deposits, containing 504 tonnes of this precious metal. Its predicted gold resources add up to 1.500-2,000 tonnes.
