Lucent Digital Video Enters Into Development Agreement With Unique Broadband
Systems for New Digital Video Applications

MARKHAM, ONTARIO & MURRAY HILL, N.J. (Nov. 18) BUSINESS WIRE -Nov. 18,
1998--Lucent Digital Video, a wholly-owned venture of Lucent
Technologies, has entered into a development agreement with Unique
Broadband Systems, Inc. for new digital video applications, including
new products and end-to-end digital video solutions. The two companies
will work specifically on solutions for digital video in the areas of
terrestrial and satellite distribution.

Unique's Ontario facility will conduct much of the research and
development on the joint projects. Lucent Digital Video will fund
Unique's engineering costs. In addition, Andreas Papanicolaou,
president of Lucent Digital Video, has agreed to join Unique's Board of
Directors.

Work has commenced on the initial project. Under terms of the
agreement, Unique will provide transmission equipment and digital video
boards as well as systems integration and custom system design to
Lucent Digital Video. Lucent Digital Video will be the supplier to the
customer,
