Acclaim Continues Studio Management Consolidation; Nigel Cook, Craig Galley, and Cyrus Lum Promoted To Vice-President
GLEN COVE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--November 18, 1998--Acclaim Studios, a division of Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKLM), a leading worldwide interactive entertainment company, announced today that in its ongoing effort to create the highest quality product, it has furthered its consolidation effort with the promotion of three key members of the studio management team. Craig Galley, Cyrus Lum and Nigel Cook have been promoted to vice-president, technology; vice-president, digital productions; and vice-president, product development and design, respectively. Reporting to Darrin Stubbington, executive vice president and general manager of Acclaim Studios, Cook, Galley and Lum broaden their responsibilities to oversee their discipline across all projects.

Acclaim Studios, which include Iguana and Probe, employs more than 400 professionals in five locations. These studios, with locations in Austin, Texas; Salt Lake City, Utah; Glen Cove, New York; and two facilities in the U.K., have been responsible for Acclaim's recent string of critically praised products including Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Extreme-G, Forsaken, NFL Quarterback Club 98, WWF War Zone, and All-Star Baseball 99. Internally developed product coming soon include NFL Quarterback Club 99, NBA Jam 99, NHL Breakaway 99, Extreme-G2, South Park, and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil.

Craig Galley, vice-president, technology, is a graduate of the University of Teesside with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. Prior to joining Iguana ,Galley worked for a European defense contractor developing simulation software for military applications. A four year veteran of Acclaim's Iguana Studio, Craig most recently served as executive technical director where he oversees the design and development of new tools and technology. Galley and his team developed the game engines and technology that were used to create Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, All-Star Baseball '99, and NFL Quarterback Club '99.
Cyrus Lum, vice-president, digital productions, has been involved in the interactive entertainment industry for ten years. Starting his career at Strategic Simulations, Inc., creating artwork for games based on the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons license. Lum also worked for Crystal Dynamics Inc., where he founded their art department and served as lead artist. Lum joined Acclaim Studios in 1994 where he founded the Advanced Technology Group. The Advanced Technology Group is responsible for Acclaim Studio's high-end rendering and animation for games. In his current role Lum will oversee and provide direction to the advanced 3D graphic art efforts of Acclaim Studios.
Nigel Cook, vice-president, product development & design, is also a veteran of the video game industry, having been involved in it since 1987. Cook has served as a graphic artist, game designer, and project manager on a number of top titles over a wide variety of gaming formats including: Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, GameBoy, Nintendo 64, PlayStation, and PC. One of Cook's biggest achievements has been the implementation and advancement of ADP (Acclaim Development Process), an internally created management tool for developing quality games that are on-time and on-budget.
