Humbly report, JDN, as far as I can tell, no other company is as far along with VRD as Microvision. Seems to me, Microvision is the de facto future standard: In a signed memorandum, the Navy stated that it has identified RSDT as a ''state-of-the-art'' optical technology that serves as a ''baseline'' by which all other optical technologies will be measured. (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/981116/wa_microvi_2.html) Yes, I expect other kids to try and steal Microvision's ball but it is, in my humble opinion, getting harder to do so - all the time. Microvision has already had to deal with wannabes, and prevailed, so far. All important patents are locked up, and I expect future ones will be as well.
