Les,

I did not know you meant Rudolph Hess. Actually,
Rudolph Hess was a rather interesting story, was
it not? He knew that Germany was about to get its
ass kicked and he took it upon himself to fly an
ME-109 into England and try to negotiate a truce
between England and Germany. The English threw
him in prison. In some ways he was a rather sym-
pathetic figure in German history because he knew
that his boss (Hitler) was about to destroy his
nation and he took it upon himself to try and stop
this mad situation. He remained a faithful Nazi
up to his final day in prison when he died in his
80's or so. In contrast, Betty Currie remained a
faithful Secretary in covering for her boss's
misdeeds and even collecting subpoened gifts at
Monica's apartment (crimes: obstruction of justice,
destruction of evidence). She then took them and
put them in a box under her bed?!?. Ms. Currie
even came in on weekends to the Whitehouse simply
to let Monica in so that she would not have to sign
the Guestbook (conspiracy). Oh what a tangled web
we weave when we practice to deceive.
