<<I feel many patients would become terminally ill if a buck were involved>> That may[ or may not] be a little cynical. Do you think Doctors kill patients currently when money is involved? When my father was dying of cancer the doctor wanted to operate even though he had only a week to live. One of the nurses told my mother that she didn't have to permit the operation. She didn't and he died a week later with little pain at home . A pure money grab. When my mother confronted him she said they talked for several minutes during which he never looked at her directly. So you see they will keep you alive and in pain for money today. I believe a law can be structured so as to prevent the kind of abuse you speak of.Signed consent in the presence of a government official and relatives. It could be worked out IMO.
