Interesting use of Alpha. We think big while some one thinks small.
NW
XYBERNAUT CORP. and Samsung Electronics Co. have signed a letter
of intent to explore making Alpha-based miniature wearable
computers, the companies said late Monday. The new systems will
rely on COMPAQ COMPUTER CORP's Alpha computer chip technology,
which has been licensed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Xybernaut
expects to market the new faster, smaller, more powerful and more
resilient system sometime in 2000, the company said. Details of
the agreement, which includes sales and research and development,
are expected to be finalized early next year. (Reuters 09:13 PM ET
