What the heck is going on?
I keep reading from the yahoo thread that TLAB is going to make
another bid for CIEN. Is this a joke? How long can this rumor go on?? Seems that this rumor has been running for over a month now...

Dave,

Have been burned by this cien/tlab merger more than I ever could
imagined. Tlab is a long term hold for most, however, I have become
very short term oriented, taking profits fairly early..sold my position last Mon....With FOMC meeting looming and the uncertainty of what a cut/no cut would do to the mkt.. Birck's comments have not helped...thinking about entering pre-announcement of new products

Maybe before weeks end??? Any idea when new products news will be
released...I have a long way to go to even break even!!!

Dam, I dislike AT&T for sabatoging this merger...was in both stocks
at the time of the announcement.

Good Luck
Stan

PS. your FA gives me something to shoot for..YOU DA MAN Dave

Dave and Thread, these days with Asia in pieces, flat international sales are a pretty good result. I reckon Aisa investment in telco pre-crisis must have been major, so flat is good these days, IMO. Look at how poorly HWP fares, for example. Europe still pretty strong, offsetting lesser sales to Asia.

Besides, TLAB international share in sales is 1/3 or so only if memory serves, so impact there limited anyway.

Sooner or later Asia will rebound and telco equipment investment there is crucial. I could even see all that held-up demand picking up dramatically at one point, surprising people on the upside.

In all, what I'm trying to say is that TLAB is doing well enough internationally and if this is the reason that the stock has been a little weak in the last few days, the market got it wrong IMO. I think we simply see profit taking from people who made a quick 30% or so profit in the last few weeks, selling on all all the good news the co. has released recently.

Anyway, I'm firmly holding long,
Thomas
