It is a company to be liquidated sooner or later. Earlier this year 12 baby bra's were spun off and trade as independent companies. This TBR is no longer a Telefon company. It contains some assets (different stocks, also rumored a small amount in Portugal Telecom) and may have more or less much liabilities. All in all difficult to estimate. May be 1 dime, may be 3 quarters. Now it trades around 3/8 dollars. TBR will be liquidated in early (January?) 1999.

If you want to Invest in Brazilian Telecom buy TBH (Telebras Holders) or the better baby companies which are I think Embratel, Tele Sao Paulo TSP cellular.. A few posts ago you find the list of all Telebras.

Happy trading!
