My youngest daughter is so politically correct, I am forever careful and vigilant. You would laugh, but early on some women lawyers were infuriated over having "Esq." after their names because of the former male connotations, and others were infuriated if a male lawyer was not respectful enough to add "Esq." along with all the male lawyers. This is why I loved Charles Dickens when I grew up - he captured the 19th century version of our soap operas in his novels.
