Orbit,

The celeron300a (sl32a) is in an InWin Q500 case with 2 fans: I flipped the powersupply fan so it blows out with a front fan blowing in. The chip came with an on-chip heatsink and fan (fan #3) as well. I've also got a $15 Radio Shack in/out thermometer set up with the probe on the cpu heatsink: currently reading 93.9 as I muck with a 2.3v setting. But the house is warm today: got the carpets steam cleaned so I boosted the thermostat to 80 to assist in drying. The CPU thermometer tends to read <10 degrees F in excess of room temp. The temp I get out of the BIOS is 3 or 5 degrees higher: but that is an M-board temp I believe. The case is still open don't think that hurts or helps my temp right now: don't have anything really REALLY hot involved.

Given the temps I am measuring, I have to agree with the parties that have opined on the thread that the cooling issue is over-cooked. <g>
