Mary - Re: " Using Kurlak's unit esitmates Intel will earn 4.15 per share as opposed to Kurlak's estimate of $3.60. That would give Intel a 24 PE same as the average for the S&P. "

Kurlak's $3.60 estimate assumes FLAT EARNINGS.

Intel just posted $0.89 and pre-announced an 8 to 10% revenue increase as well as a few per cent increase in gross margin. That means that Q498 will be well above $0.90 (= $3.60/4).

Depending upon overall business conditions, Intel could wallop Kurlak's estimate. Current conditions indicate that near term, Intel will do this.

As you know, "long term" may be different.
