Study the past stock action. It is normal that it moves up ahead of the revenue uptick. It is also normal for it to move down ahead of the business downturn by about 6 months. If we go back 12 months, the stock predicted, by its October plunge, that business would suck by the spring. Now this strong move up is predicting that business will turn by the 2nd fiscal quarter.

The price of amat reflects what the investment community believes business will look like in 6 months. It has almost nothing to do with the current state of affairs.
