Dan, As an "amateur", what I've learned in the few years I've been investing is: 1. Keep current with the company's news and buy or sell accordingly 2. Don't lose patience and sell a good company that's having a poor quarter or two (learned the hard way with AOL!) 3. Look to the future and the company's niche in it 4. Read lots of analysts' reports, but don't necessarily buy or sell on that basis unless you have lots of personal doubts 5. Listen to your gut feeling So, never fear, low spots can be persevered and bought!
