Yes, according to The Prize. But the main thing was that the new method was much more efficient than the old system but they just couln't get it through management. It just points out that companies become complacent. Its human nature. Bill Gates is better than most as I think he is always afraid of whom is coming up behind him. But even he can't keep a company the size of MSFT from becoming set in its ways to some extent. One thing most may not be aware of. Rockefeller had retired when the Standard trust suit was brought. But his name was so associated with Standard that he couldn't stay away.
