Just today I asked a pump operator with St. Louis Water Dept. about
possible water outages due to Y2K. He laughed. He said the only
computers he sees around his plant are two old 386's used to play
video games. Some chemists use computers for their reports. Some
still use typewriters! The Water Dept. is pretty far behind the technology curve.
In any event, since Water's largest customer is the world's largest brewery, my best guess is that Anheuser-Busch will keep the water flowing.
So in Y2K St. Louisans should still be able to drink beer. But, they may be forced to flush in the dark. <G>
