Good points you brought up. Me, I wouldn't pay the $15 fee, but would switch brokers first. E-trade didn't mention a fee to me, so I presume there is none. And yes, you can still sell the stock if you have the certificate, with 3 day delivery. A call to the broker should confirm this first. I use the Post Office 'overnight' service for $3, versus Fed Ex, which is about $10 or $12.
One other item, it has been suggested that, once a MM sees a big short position, he too jumps on the band wagon, and shorts it even further.
