Merril On Compaq. Voltarie: You sir sure do make some fine points about DELL,I am sure the potential investors will get it eventually as 'they' always do. Now here is what the Merril Lynch has to say about Compaq in a nutshell. =============================================== Investment Highlights: "Compaq introduced its new aggressively priced Prosignia products and services,and a special DirectPlus program target at the SBM market,and is the fastest growing customer segment. The indirect PC vendors seem to be rebounding as channel inventory has been cleared.Decent demand and potential Y2K boost in the first half of 1999 are positives,but we think the stock is fairly valued at 19X our 1999 estimate. Fundamental Highlights: We attended Compaq's press conference yesterday highlighting its new strategy for the small and medium sized business (SMB) market.
