Hello Donkeyman., no I wouldnt assume anything like that., DeBeers
processing labs., process cores from all around the world., they service many areas of DeBeers empire., the normal process in this
early stage is splitting the core., which the Major has done., usually
halving it., they keep one half., sent the other to the labs in S.Africa.
During this time., they will do petrological studies (age Dating)., garnet extraction., and micro analysis., usually caustic dilution., melt away
the matrix., then they would proably sit down., and do microprobing
of the garnets., test the diamonds., for inclusions., the petrologic
studies may takes weeks., the normal extraction period is around 6
weeks., depends on the flow thru the labs., the labs have to be fully
purged of previous samples., slime removed., and probably a half a
dozen events that I have missed. It is too early to be speculating
on micro/macro relationships., if some macros appear., it will be encouraging., right now 2 hurdles have been passed in diamond
exploration., first they have 4 diamond bearing pipes., one is showing
good early counts. It is merely a stepping stone., that warrants more
drilling.,
Sincerely
George J. Tromp
