Glenn,

The CBC Newsworld item mentioned $750M Cdn explicitly. I suspect that the Dow Jones newsstory either had a typo or a misunderstanding. Other rumours talked about $500M US which, lo and behold, is almost exactly $750M Cdn.

While I wouldn't turn my nose up at a 1:1 share swap for either LU or CSCO shares to replace my NN (highly unlikely even in a fantasy world), I'm also happy to just hold my NN and wait for their true value to come out.

FWIW,
Ian.

$750 million US is a large contract and gives Newbridge the respect that it has been looking for during the last year.

Glenn --

Dow Jones was quoting an unnamed analyst whose numbers may or may not be accurate.

Playing the devil's advocate:

1) that figure may be Canadian
2) it may represent the entire G-1 contract
3) it's unlikely NN will get 100%

Bad information will backfire so I'll remain cautiously optimistic --- and continue to weigh all press as carefully as I can.

Later --

Pat
