Alien,

The thing that really worries me in NETA, tell me if I am wrong is the way they handle acquisitions.

You are wrong. You can always hire programmers and analysts. (Why are they now called engineers?) What they are after is product and market.

CTC

Well obviously he posted just as it happened, could be a coincidence?

I'm assuming that "he" refers to "ze kat..." Hey Chuz!!! You'r gonna let an "alien" talk to you like that. Aren't you going to "meow" at him at least? :-)

From Chuz:

From the American Heritage Dictionary...
engineer - One skilled at or engaged in a branch of engineering

Okay, what does "engineering" mean...
engineering - The application of scientific principles to practical ends as the design, construction, and operation of eficient and economcal structures, equipment, and systems.

Sounds about right for a typical"programmer" in Silly Valley these days. However, I guess my "engineer" title is wasted... "software test grunt" is more acccurate... (This is my way of expressing my feeling "under-challenged" at work.)

Chuz: as for the comment about "you can always hire engineers"....*BUZZ!!!* There is a SHORTAGE for decent "engineers." The decent engineers are getting multiple bids for their skills. (By "decent", I meant someone who I don't have to "baby-sit.") But you are right on one point...they are buying for the product and the market share!!!

Cheers,
Joanna
