Good evening Don Martini,

What you mention here is a margined covered call writing strategy which in turn is equivalent to selling naked puts e.g. JAN 60P for 10 1/2 (well they are at 11 1/2 now as it seems that the stock has slipped a bit). This requires less commission and has the same profit and risk profiles. My general principle is not to get involved in too complex strategies. I try to boil them down to simple cases using the put-call parity equation which is call - put = stock - strike (RHS discounted by interest rates, negligible for short term options close to the strike).

And you know that I do not sell naked puts! :-)

Presently I have no option trades going on as I am involved in a very interesting and demanding project at work and cannot focus on the markets on a daily basis. But I will be back in January to trading DELL options. Will post my trades then.
