Dwane, in most cases the acquiring company will pull back when an acquisition is announced (whether it makes sense or not) and with the announcements Monday and Wednesday it looks like it did a normal reaction. I guess the thought is "dilution". Anyway in last Friday's IBD I saw where FAF was #3 (only behind CREE and DELL) as the most actively recently purchased company by top rated mutual funds.
It has support at 32 1/2 which it bounced off early today and then it strengthened a little as the day wore on. I looks like a fairly low risk buy (especially if the market continues its sideways pattern. I didn't see anything else negative in the news so this very well could be a buying opportunity in a diversified portfolio. As you know it carries a 9 rating in Poormans, but I suspect it may have bottomed as long as they don't announce another acquisition/merger for a while. <G>
If you have been watching Poormans website, there is another candidate there worth watching. Our ESMC almost hit a "double" today from last Thursday alert.
