Time Traveler- "To my disappointment, the system cannot
run at 100MHz bus."

Are you using PC 100 RAM? If not, that could be the problem.

I just built 2 of these. I got a PC100,M590 super socket 7 mother board. Put a K6/2,300 and overclocked to 350 with a very good fan..This board comes with 8M AGP video which it steals from my pc100 64megs and 3D sound for $88 at Chipsmart. Runs fast. Windows pop. I wait for nothing not even boot up. I love it. It seems much faster than my K6/200 with a 4 meg Creative labs video card. I know these intgrated boards got a lot of flack there first time out but they seem to got it right this time . The sales people would not even sell me the old intergrated boards but this they said was the "technician choice". The "chop shop" I went to also ran out of K6-2 and I had to go to another city to get the only 2 left. Salesmen said it was the hotest chip they had ever sold. This was a Sunday and the guy said If we dont get in any by tommorow we might as well close up shop.

If the revision of ALi M1541 is less than xxx0000E,
forget 100MHz. The swap meet is not the best place
to buy the newest technology. Again, K62/333 implies
that the part was not formally qualified for 100MHz FSB.
Before mocking here, go back learn some practical
engineering.
