She says that when the deal fell through, Mr. Greig instructed Liberty employees to call investors and suggest that they consider taking profits on their Digitcom shares. Ms. Mitchell says Mr. Greig told Liberty Capital employees to "get on the phone and tell [our contacts] that there are Swiss buyers who have told [Mr. Greig] that they felt Digitcom has reached its correct valuation and that they were selling 1.5 million shares." Mr. Greig calls Ms. Mitchell's account of the matter false. He acknowledges learning of a rumor about European sellers from Internet message boards, but says: "I have no direct knowledge of anyone calling [Digitcom investors] and telling anyone to sell their shares," he says.
