Elaine -

Reading that post, I am almost forced to conclude that you are being deliberately stupid. We have been over this before.

Nobody, with the exception of you, suggests that anyone who makes an incorrect prediction about a stock's direction should be thrown in jail. That would put virtually everyone involved in the market behind bars.

The SEC has a problem with people who are PAID to hype or slam stocks on the internet without revealing that they are paid to do so. I, like many others, don't believe that you are paid, because nobody would pay you to be so transparently biased and immature.

If you believe what you said in the post I quoted, then you must believe that you should be thrown in jail for saying that Iomega was headed down as, from January until November of 1997, it headed up.

And you must also believe that you should be thrown in jail for telling everyone that they should sell when the stock was around 3 in the first week of October. You exhorted everyone to sell so we would not regret missing our chance to get out while it was still in the threes, because it was only going to go down from there. The stock tripled within three weeks. Is that what you call being right all along?

You yourself are the saddest victim of your own lousy prognostication record. Long at 4 1/4, after interest in IOM picked up radically and it was obvious the momentum had shifted. Good. Short just days later, at 5 3/16. Not so good. You should really stop listening to yourself. You missed a lot of upside with that move.

One more point. It is not possible to lie about future stock prices. It is only possible to lie about something one knows for certain. That's why I don't call you a liar. You haven't lied about where IOM was headed, you've just been wrong a lot.

- Allen

<<I totally agree with your premise. All of the Hypsters who promoted this garbage stock from $14 all the way down to $2 15/16 should be thrown in jail. Pronto.
