Motivation to switch : - an interface which is tailored to take full advantage of the capabilities of broadband, free of all limitations imposed by Microsoft to preserve their Windows monopoly. (With all these stupid requests for plug-ins, messages, hardware conflicts, etc..I think navigating with IE and Netscape is a pain in the rear) IMO, the standards for such an interface will be developped by a consortium including networkers, manufacturers of connection devices, and software companies. You will end up with multiple browsers, and domination by IE and Netscape will be history. The Justice Department wants it, most companies want it, and consumers will want it too.
