Off Topic : Funny story about Nokia/Wall Street from COMDEX

This is from a piece by John Dvorak in The Wall Street Journal
(I don't like to post the whole article, for copyright reasons.)

I was impressed by the thinking that went into an 18-inch LCD flat panel that Nokia was showing. Apparently one of the company's marketing people was confronted by a stock trader who complained about the flat panel's delicacy. This trader demonstrated by throwing a phone violently against an LCD monitor, cracking it in front of the Nokia representative.

Nokia then added a piece of protective glass in front of the LCD screen, so the panel could withstand this kind of abuse -- which, I am told, is epidemic among traders, who apparently get mad easily and throw things at their computer screens. The Nokia representative showing me the LCD panels demonstrated this protective barrier by flinging a computer mouse against the panel. It seems apparent that all desktop panels will eventually adopt this idea, especially the ones being sold to Wall Street trading desks.
