Jeff: The 3Q conference call is scheduled on Monday, November 23rd, 2:00pm PST(5:00pm EST). SMTC's press release related to fiscal 1999 third quarter results will be released prior to the cc.

I don't believe it is common for an equity to move to the 100 dma at this point (50 dma on a good upward slope closely approaching the 200 dma. Today the 50dma is 1/16th below the 200 dma. Apparently, SMTC officials have kept the lid tight on the upcoming announcement -- There is no buying or selling this week in anticipation of the announcement. It is difficult for me to interpret the changes in the spread on this stock. Today, the spread was very small -- 1/8th or so. Why? I have always thought small spread indicated a large inventory of shares in the hands of the dealers and visa versa.
