Kris,
I thought this was the place to critique CNBC. I find it terrible when a
"news agency" will put out almost no news on an entire industry. Yes,
you will hear CNBC discuss the gold price, the support levels, and any anti gold (and some pro gold) price news. There is almost no news about any precious metals mining company. I , like wise, find their total dismissal of the coal mining (or any other)industry wrong. Most people believe there will be great profits to be made by buying industries not currently in favor.
Also, there is a history of corrupt public offerings in precious metals mining. While I think their coverage of the Bre-X affair last year was a great service to the investing public, there should be an ongoing effort to help the investor in this sector know which companies are good, and which are not.
I think we could also be helped by discussions of the natural gas industry.
We hear daily an internet analyst, what the gold investor needs is not a futures analyst, as the futures analyst often sees only the very short term, like the day trader instead they need a mining analyst or two. There are mining companies making money, and some very close to a turn-around.
